Hi guys, back again with our Paper Take Weekly challenge which this time is
Anything Goes -optional home made flowers,
were being sponsored by the Lovely The Ribbon Girls, yeah thank you Mary and Andrea,
It was my Birthday last month and with some of my money I saw this dress form in a local shop and it just had to fall into my basket!!!!!
As you know i love to do something different for a change,
As you know i love to do something different for a change,
there are a few pictures, so grab a brew first lol,
It started out brown as it's made of paper mache, so i painted the whole thing with white gesso first,
the bodice had quite a wide bottom, lol so i was stuck to what would look right, so after much humming and haring I came up with this,
If you look closely you will see I started off with some tissue paper strips onto which I had stamped a script stamp, I tore the strips up the applied to the bodice using mod podge, this was to give her a bodice effect as the dress form has quite a good shape on her top half and so she needed her modesty!!!! when this was dry I made the over bodice by using the wet paper technique to fold, mould and shape the paper to fit, before gluing I added a strip of lace on the top,
I will go back to the hat later,
Again using the same technique i then made an under the bust part of the dress/ costume by roughly following the design of the dress form and down to just past her waist,
The inner dress is made up using two different designer papers shaped and layered with a little tulle in between too, over this I shaped and made soft pleat effects for the skirt to go over the top, I added the smaller lace before gluing to the dress form and the larger lace after it was attached to the rest of the dress form,
To finish the dress off I used a few different flower dies from my stash, made them up using some maja design papers then applied them where i thought they looked right, the flourish is by Cheery Lynn,
To finish off the top of the dress form which looked a little bare I made a hat out of the same papers, using some circle dies and a strip of paper, I sort of made it up as I went along!!!! but I like the finished look,
again I used some more of the hand made flowers and cut a little bit off another of the flourishes to tie it all in,
I finished off the base with a rub on, which says yesterday, today, tomorrow,
I really enjoyed doing this and would love to do more!!!!!
