My Lovely Friends,

Saturday 29 May 2010

Hi peeps, have you missed me lol,

We had gorgeous weather on our hols last week, the first four days were so hot, it was lovely as there was an outdoor pool and we lay with our feet in the water and sunbathed, its a good job it wasn’t this week as they’ve not give it as good,

We had a good run down but yesterday we hit traffic this side of Birmingham so we was on the motorway quite a while, probably why I feel like I’ve got jet lag, can you get jet lag from car travel ? he he,

I’ve made a card today being as it’s too cold and wet to do my washing and I’ve made it for the colour create challenge, which is to use Soft green and Light Aqua and I’ve used one of my favourite Magnolias and I have coloured it with Copics,P1010943

You can’t really tell that I’ve layered the card of the main cardstock, and then the inner layer is done also, blame the jet lag again as I meant to do a photo showing this but forgot!!!

I have used a Magnolia Tilda stamp and sentiment, copics, ribbon from stash had for ages, Quickcutz corner die,and I have used the waste bits for a little extra design around the main image, the flower was a freebie from a Magazine years ago, just knew it would come in handy some day lol, Butterflies are a x cut punch, cardstock is Basic Grey,

I  am hoping to get some sleep tonight as I feel like I’m falling asleep writing this lol,

See you later, have fun, hugs Liz xx

What a Day lol,

Hi Peeps, do you know the sun is actually shining here yipee, oh I’d better not yell to loud it might get scared and disappear again lol, well what a morning i’ve had, I’m on hols for a week next week and so I wanted to shorten some cropped pants, yes cropped pants they were just not cropped enough, so I goes and gets my ancient sewing box and there was not a tape measure to be had so guess who has used a metal craft  ruler instead yep me!!! then all my pins had rusted .. not easy to get through fabric when their rusty I can tell you… so any way finally after a lot of coursing and my dog taking cover (only Joking) I did my pants, so guess who’s probably got one pant leg longer than the other lol,

Any way enough of my babbling, on to my card which is for my hubby’s Birthday which is when were away on hols next week so I’ve had to do it before I needed to pack and when he couldn’t walk into the craft room, of course I was trying to make this when I was thinking of doing my (crops) pants that is, and the housework, good job we can multitask he he,   I am entering my card into 9 challenges, gosh I should sew some more I’m usually looking all over for challenges that fit my cards lol,

Hi peeps, it’s still cold and wet here so I’m using it as a good excuse to craft again, not that we crafters need an excuse do we lol, I have made a card using one of Di’s gorgeous Digi’s again, as you know I am one of her DT and It’s so hard to choose which one I’m going to play with lol, any way I chose this one this time as it reminds me of my daughter at that age when she just loved her puppy and always had a smile on her face when she was near, she still does light up when her puppy’s near come to think of it though it’s not the same one lol,

I’m entering this card into the following challenges,   Copic Colour~ Goo, BG, BV02,… Sweet Sketch Wednesday~ sketch,…  Dare U Digi Stamp~ Anything goes… Crafty Angels~One for the Girls,

I have used a inkssentials pen on my image, which I have seen on others but I’m not sure it works for me what do you think? the edge of the circle is glittered with stardust stickles layered on top of a doily sent by my lovely friend Mandy, thanks hun, the pearls are Basic Grey, Adage ticket is Tim Holtz, and the gold thread/ribbon is a pain to tie and I’ve had it for ages,

I hope you all enjoy your day and have a lovely weekend, hugs Liz xx

Hi I’m back lol, challenges are, Sophisticats and ABC, Crafts and me challenge,

Box tutorial Lid and inside,

Hi peeps, this is the instructions for the lid,

Using the 15.2 x15.2 cm size card score 3 cm on all sides, create 4 flaps by cutting on opposing score lines to where the lines meet, trim triangle sections from each corner to create flaps,P1010899

attach double sided tape to each flap, cut a circle in the centre of the lid, and adhere the acetate underneath with double sided tape on the front apply the scalloped circle if required for decoration,

fold all score lines inside to create the lid,

Use the 12.8x 12.8 piece od card, score 2cm on each side, trim the corners as shown by cutting triangular shapes to where the score lines meet on each corner,                                                                                                 P1010902

fold in the sides and insert into the bottom of your finished box,

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and not fallen asleep lol, the instructions for the bottom of the box are on the upload before as my computer wouldn’t let me put it all on one lol,

Box Tutorial

Hi Peeps,

Some of you have asked how I do my boxes that I have shown recently on my blog, well I have tried to show you in this following tutorial, it consists of quite a few pictures so you might want to make a cuppa first lol,

Step one,

One~ 27x27 cm, piece of card

One~ 15.2 cm, piece of patterned card

One 12.8x12.8 piece of coordinating card

one 8.5x8.5cm, piece of Acetate,

Double sided tape, cutting tool or scissors and a ruler, scalloped and circle nesties,

Step One, score the 27 x 27 cm piece of card at 9cm and 18cm, rotate your card a  quarter turn and repeat,

I’ve used a separate piece of card to hopefully show you the score and cut lines, red and green lines cuts pencil lines scoring, using a cutting tool or craft knife cut on opposing score lines to where to where the score lines meet, then turn your card a quarter turn and cut at 5cm and 22 cm as shown by the green lines,

This is how it should look when all the cuts have been made.

Notch flaps by cutting a small triangle section from each side, add double sided tape to flaps as shown,

Fold all scored lines and stick the flaps to the inside to create the box,

This completes my box I hope you can make sense of it and have a go, hugs Liz xx
