Engagement Card

Hi guys, I thought I'd show you a card I made a few weeks back for my Son and his Girlfriend who got engaged,

We are all so happy for them!!

I used some papers by Prima for the base and layers, simply distressing the edges as you know I love to do,

My daughter bought me these chipboard hearts as part of a crafty Christmas present and they came in perfectly for this, I left them in their natural colour then I simply added some silver glitter glue by 13 Arts onto the circle/dots,

I added some of my handmade Foamiran flowers to my card using Lady E Design dies Flower 001 with pale pink 0.6 Foamiran coloured in the middle with some Geletos, the stamens are from my stash,
I then used the Tiny leaves die for the paper leaves which I cut out of 13 Arts paper and edged with some of the Silver glitter glue again,

I very loosely scrunched them as I wanted this effect,

I added a border made with a piece of air dry clay which I used with a mould by Prima, then I finished the  card off with some gorgeous sequins, a text again by 13 Arts and a lovely butterfly which I bought from The Range,

(Opps How bad am I? I've only just seen I missed an E out of the computer printed ENGAGEMENT at the top of the card, that's what you get for being excited!!!!!!!!! lol)

PS: They both loved it though and neither said about it!!!!!, lol

This Makes Me Happy

Hi guys, I thought I'd show you another bit of mixed Media I've been creating,

I altered a old brush with some Bloo/Mar chipboard, a Resin piece and lots of mixed media,

I bought a fabulous Resin lamp post piece a few weeks back and wanted to use it on this mixed media brush,

here are some photo's I took of the brush and chipboard frame plus the resin lamp post before adding all the mixed media too them,

I painted them with some white Gesso dabbing it on the top part of the brush and the chipboard frame with a foam dauber, this gives a little texture and is fab for getting into odd shapes,

I dried this with a heat gun which also helps give texture, then glued some twine around the brush, leaving some over the top of the brush so I can hang it up, yep this brush had no pre drilled hole in it!!!Lol

I then went over the handle again with some texture sand,

I then added my base items onto the brush with 3D Matte Gel, I added some metal embellishments too for added interest,

When the Gel was dry I started painting the brush and the resin piece plus metal pieces with some Impasto paint, these are quite thick so I added a little spray of water here and there to water some of it down,
On the resin lamp post I also used some alchohol inks,

I then added some of the 13 Arts white Branches over the chipboard,

After this I added a ribbon flower, paper flowers and paper leaves,

I glued a Finnabair metal flower onto the top of the ribbon flower then when set I painted the inner sections with some Patina effect paint,

I used the same Patina effect paints onto the bristles part of the brush, onto the metal elements and onto a Dusty Attic chipboard I also added,

The leaves are cut out of 13 Arts paper from the until Dawn pack with a lady E design Tiny leaves die,

I finished my project off with a hand made air dry clay bird which I made with a mould from my stash, small metal flowers in bronze and black and white

Well it really makes me think of spring, so nice when it's freezing cold outside, lol

Happy Birthday Sis

Hi guys, it was my Sisters Birthday yesterday, so now I know she's seen it I can pop it on here, lol

I know my sis loves blue, so I made her a card with some Foamiran flowers in blue 0.6 Foamiran, with navy blue 0.6 foamiran leaves, my daughter bought me some Foamiran for Christmas and these were in the ones she bought me,

I used the papers by 13 Arts, Cold Day, In The Garden and Until Dawn, love them!! simply distressing the edges on the base card, and tearing into shape the raised up part in the centre, behind the raised up part I used some white Tulle then some Scrapiniec chipboard I had in my stash,

I used a Memory Box die behind my flowers, then layered up some hand cut flower heads from the paper, my foamiran flowers and leaves, in between I added hints of 13 Arts white branch which I simply cut down and glued in place,

I die cut the flowers out of Lady E design flower 001 die then edged the petals with a darker blue copic pen, this just added a very fine edge to the petals,
the stamens came from 14 Craft bar,

I also made some tiny flowers using the Tiny Flowers die again by Lady E Designs, edging the petals as before,
The Tiny leaves were cut in one of the papers and then I edged them here and there with some 13 Arts silver glitter glue,
The sentiment was a sticker again by 13 Arts from the Rose Field collection which I placed onto a piece of the paper to keep in the theme,

Some gorgeous sparkly sequins finish off the card,

I used the 13 Arts Mood Board as my inspiration, using the colours and textures, thought the branches looked like the snowy branch too, lol

Everlasting Love

Hi guys, I have just discovered Bloo/Mar Designs  gorgeous chip boards and so had to order a few,

The Etsy shop is in the UK too, so that's fab, I got my order beautifully packaged and love the items I ordered,
I used the heart 001 chip board, his time keeping it in it's natural colour, I teamed it with some blossom style flowers I made using
lady E Design dies Flower 001, Leaves 002 and Tiny Leaves,

here is a card I've made just because I felt like making it, lol

The Blossom style flowers are made using white Silk Foam and some stamens from my stash, I will have a video of how I made these shortly,
But for now here's some photo's  with a close up of the heart 001 Chip board,

The papers are by 49 and market including the laser cut envelope, I used one of the papers for the tiny leaves too,

I arranged my flowers on some natural Sisal, this helps give some added interest and depth to the card too,
The sentiment is a sticker from 13 Arts - Rose Field,

I also made some buds, which will be shown on the video,
I finished the card off with some sequins here and there too,

Beside The Sea

Hi guys, are you ready for a little bit of Spring or Summer, I love it when the days are warmer and you can enjoy outdoors,
I've seen a few mood boards with some fabulous colours and textures, and these are what I have interpreted from them,

As you know I love to try something new, and so here is my latest mixed media project, I only have bits and bobs for mixed media as I'm fairly new to it so I started with a embroidery hoop which I added some twine too, I got some inspiration off the internet for this idea with the twine, but sorry I can't remember who's) then I added some texture paste around the frame and some on the twine too, when dry I painted them with some  impasto acrylic paints,

I tore some designer papers up then layered them to give a waves affect, and glued these at the base of the project behind the hoop,

On one side of the twine I glued some forest moss, again after the glue set I added a hint of the same paint colours, this gave a good base for the shells to be adhered too,

I added some chip boards to my scene, the lighthouse, seagull and fishing net are by laserowe love and came from Swedish House Crafts,
I painted the chipboard light house and net with white Gesso, when Dry I added some frantage, then went over again on the lighthouse with a thin layer of gesso on the main part and some sparks paints on the other,

the other chipboards are the drift wood which are by Dusty Attic,

For the driftwood after the white Gesso dried, I added a little vintage photo distress ink, here and there, as I wanted it too look like it had a washed look, onto this I added some art stones in two sizes, some more shells and a few pieces of the fabby dried roots by 13 Arts, I love these!!!

The seagull had white Gesso then texture paste on the main body, white Gesso again then the distress ink on the legs and beak,

I finished it off with lots more art stones, dried roots and finally a bit of white Gesso dabbed here and there including the frame and twine for added interest,

PS: it look fab on the wall, a hint of the lovely weather to come, Lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON

Hi guys, today is our sons Birthday, he's fishing mad, went fishing after Christmas before he went back to work, so yes that mad!!! lol
Actually it's been quite mild with the weather so it made a pleasant change for him,

I made him a card which turned out very hard to photograph, oh well never mind!!

I created a fishing scene for him, the fisherman isn't correct as he's more a river fisherman but hey who's checking, Simon probably!!! he he
Anyway I created the scene using inks and some masks I made,

The hills, moon and Lake were made using the masks onto Black cardstock with starlight silver and platinum planet Brilliance ink pads,

I stamped the fisherman with a watermark ink pad then used heat embossing black powder over the top, after heat setting it, I then drew in a jetty with a glue pen and some rings for the water effect then did the same steps,
Around the edges of the circle I added some bull rush stamps going over the edge with some to add a little detail to the outer card here and there,

I then did the above steps to add some trees and a tiny house stamp that on here is a fisher mans hut!!!
artistic licence and all that, lol

He's back at work today too after being off for a fortnight over Christmas, I timed that a bit wrong for him didn't I,

Oh well, Happy Birthday Son,

Foamiran Dianthus style flowers

Hi guys, I'm back today with a few Foamiran flowers I have created using the fabulous 0.6 Foamiran and Lady E Design dies Suha now has in stock in the Swedish House Crafts online store,

I had a look on the internet and saw some gorgeous flowers called Dianthus, a little carnation looking I thought, so I played about and tried to make some,

On the pictures I saw the inner petals were uncurled so I attempted to make that effect on two of the flowers.

I first took some narrow wire and wrapped some floral tape around them, this was so if they finished up showing they looked a little like a stamen, which on the real photo's I saw did too,
I made four of these on one and five on the other simply by using single petals off one of the flower dies, I will explain that below!! then I used full heads of the flower heads for the other layers,

Step by Step:

1. Die cut three flowers using  the middle sized die from the 001, then four or five dies from the next size up,
2.Colour from the centre out on all the flower heads, I used Geletos /Passion fruit,
3. Heat one of the smaller flower heads on the iron, then scrunch, twist, roll the petal one at a time on the ends of the petals only, set this aside for now,

4. Heat on the iron the other 2 smaller flower heads but this time scrunch the whole of the flower head, by bringing the petals together then scrunching the whole head, unfold the flower then lightly stretch one petal at a time in the middle below the edges of the petals, so the tops remain scrunched,

5. Repeat the same steps of scrunching and stretching on the larger flower heads too,

6. Go back to one of the smaller flower heads and cut each of the petals out as individual petals, by cutting from the petal edge into the middle on both sides,

7. Take a small piece of narrow wire and wrap some brown floral tape around and down the length,

8. Take one of the flower petals and glue it onto one of the wires in the middle only, so the petal edges are free,

9. Do four or five more then glue them together with the outer part of the petals facing out,

10. Wrap a tiny amount of the floral tape around the wires under neath the flower heads, this helps keep them together,

11. Take one of the smaller flower heads and make a hole in the middle of the flower head, thread the flower head up through the wires, add a little glue underneath the inner petals so the first smaller floer head can be fixed in place,

12. Glue another flower head in place doing the same steps, alternating the petals as you go,
13. Repeat the same steps for the next three layers but this time use the larger flower heads,

14. cut off the wires beneath the flowers and add a dab of glue to make sure the flower holds together,

15. Die cut some of the leaves from the 002 die set by Lady E Designs out of green 0.6 Foamiran, scrunch the leaves between your fingers, you do not need to use the iron this time unless you wish,
16. Add some colour on the leaf edges, also optional
17. Glue two of the scrunched leaves at each side of your flowers to finish,

........................................................

A. To make the fuller flower, I did the same steps with a wire,
B. Die cut three of the middle sized die again as before then colour in the same way,
C. Heat on the iron then scrunch each petal edge as before, then cut into individual petals again as before,
D, Glue three petals together by gluing along one edge of a petal overlapping the next one over the top slightly, then when set do the same again so you have three petals glued together side by side,
E. Join the three sets of three petals together so they are in a line,

F. Add some glue onto the piece of wire, then glue this on the left hand edge of the first petal, loosely wrap the rest of the joined petals round the wire, adding a bit of glue here and there on the base of thee petals to fix in place, add a last bit of glue on the last petal on the base of the petal to keep together

Repeat the steps from step 11 as above for the other flowers as before, but this time you will only have one wire to cut off,

Suha will have Moulds for Foamiran flowers in store too soon, can't wait!!!

Do let me know if you have ago,
Happy Crafting!!
