What you can achieve

Hi all, I thought I'd show you today a few different ways of using one stencil and one stamp set for different finished looking cards,

Janine has some gorgeous stencils and stamp sets to buy online in her shop The mad Scrapper, she does have a Bricks and Mortor shop too ( I love to visit this shop) but at the moment with Lockdown of course it's closed,

I used the fabulous stencil TCW stencil - Magnolia Blossoms and Gabi's Hibiscus Stampset either on their own or combined together with different media,

The first one is just an easy to make card using the stencil with distress inks through, this gives a lovely soft effect, as usual I will list all products below,

Another way to use the stencil is by using it with Finnabair Texture paste, this gives a lovely raised effect for a bit of added interest, I then used one of the stamps from the stamp set using the Ranger Archival ink pad in Pebble Beach,

Using another of the Magnolia's from the same stencil set I thought how this appeared a little like a water Lily, so for this one I first stencilled some Finnabair Modelling Paste through the stencil with the stencil the right way up, when fully dry place the stencil turned upside down so the flower appears reversed, to make this appear muted I stencilled through the stencil this time in Finnabair heavy Gesso in white, again let this dry, when totally dry I used some distress ink to create the water and sky effects,
On the base of the card I added one of the beautiful stamps off the stamp set,

For this card I again used some white Gesso through the Magnolia stencil, let it dry then went over the top with one colour of distress ink in Bundled Sage, I then stamped the Thinking of you stamp in the Ranger Archival ink in Pebble Beach, then take a piece of smooth cloth or something similar and add some water to make it slightly damp, (not wet) then use the cloth carefully over the Gesso'd flowers and it will reveal the flower underneath, as the gesso acts as a resist,

For the next card I stamped one of the flower stamps off the stamp set in the Memento London Fog doing the same with the text stamp, then I coloured the flower and leaves with some Copics from my stash,

On the card below I used the same Flower stamp using the Archival pad as mentioned before but this time I stamped it onto watercolour paper, I then coloured the flower and leaves with distress re-inkers, when dry I created a mask of the flower stamp and placed it over the top, then I placed the Magnolia stencil over the top and using a small amount of Gesso on a sponge I dabbed this through and created the look of some different flowers behind, let dry then go over the card with distress ink, I took some of the gesso off as mentioned above and left some showing more as in the middle bud,
Finishing off the card again with a sentiment stamp,

Last but not least is another card I creted using the same flower stamp, this time again coloured with my copics, but I added some distress ink around the edges of the card, leaving the centre lighter around the flower, I then took one of the Sentiment stamps and using a similar coloured ink pad from my stash I added the wording along one side of the card, simply stamping the whole of the stamp or only parts of the stamp to give variety,

I do hope I've given some inspiration on how just one stamp set and one stencil can be used in so many ways to create different looking finished projects, as of course these could also be used on other things.
