A little bit tropical

Hi guys, as you know i love to create my own Handmade Foamiran flowers, I've not as much spart time at the minute as we have a 10 week old puppy plus I look after my daughters in the day time when she's at work too,

Anyway the weathers awful and I needed cheering up so I made myself some tropical themed type flowers,

For the white one I used 0.6 Foamiran and then the Lady E Design Flower die 003, simply adding a little shading in the centre, hard to see and some stamens from my stash,

The yellow flower is made with the flower7 Crocus dies, using two  of the larger 3 petal heads and 1 of the medium flower heads,

This flower has a little additional colouring on the inner petals with some Geletos, I also deliberately tore on the lower petals to give a different look, I then used some stamens from my stash along with the stamens from the die set too,

I hand cut a couple of Palm leaves for underneath the flowers and fixed them onto a hair comb, they do look better in real life it's hard to get a good photo, lol

Anyway I thought I'd show you another couple of ways to use the dies you may already have in your stash, play around with the dies you have you never know what you will come up with,

A Small Tutorial on How I Created A folded Over Album For Lisa Horton Designs

Hi guys, you may have seen this album on the recent 3Rd February show on Create and Craft, so I thought I'd show you how I created it,

This folding album was created with some of the left over pieces which came in the MDF bookcase with grey board albums kit,

I still have some left too, but that's for another day!!! lol

...................................................................
Tutorial

These are the pieces I had left over after making my albums which I showed you on another post the other day, so for this album I made you will need

2 album cover fronts
2 narrow spines
1 wider spine,
arrange them in the order shown above,

I covered the outsides of mine with some canvas, but you can use papers, brown paper etc,
Glue the pieces as shown leaving some extra around the edges of the grey board  so you have enough to go over the edges and will stick down well, I only had a piece this big but you can make the extra around the edges larger, the gaps between the spines and covers was about .5mm or half a Centimetre, I  used a wet glue to adhere the pieces,

trim the corners as shown above and add some good quality tape as well as some of liquid glue, this just helps it to stick to the grey board well,

Turn the extra fabric over the edges of the greyboard, pressing it down firmly, when set you can lightly burnish along the gaps between the spine with your nail or bone folder for it to fold up,

This is how it folds, the wider spine goes over the front cover of the album, I finished this off by using some  distress inks and a couple of the stencils which were on the show,

I closed mine by adding some small magnets, but you can use string, or elastic or lace etc,

For the inside I used the Spring Themed stencil with some distress ink through, onto some plain white card,

I had already stuck my card stock down inside my album but you can do this part first then trim the card down to fit,

This hides the outer cover, you can of course use designer paper too,

I made some pockets for mine which I simply used the stencil again, of course you can fill yours with anything,

Here I finished it off with some of the fabulous wordage papers, which I simply cut down with my trimmer and glued on where I wanted them,

Mine was based on holding stamped images, one for uncoloured and one for some finished coloured images, as above is a peek of some gorgeous stamps coming soon!!!

I do hope you have a go at
making your own albums, show us your makes with Lisa's products on our Facebook page,
Facebook page,

We love to see what you do,

With Love

I created a Valentines day card, using the adorable heart by
BlooMar design chipboard,

I teamed it with some of the fabulous Love Letter papers by Mintay,

I used Wow embossing powder in Perissa on the heart and I wanted it a little vintage looking so I lightly added the watermark ink pad onto it, then added the embossing powder over the top and heat set it, of course I could have gone over again with it and added more embossing powder if I didn't want this look,

Some fussy cut out images finished off the card,

Details of my MDF Bookcase with greyboard albums

Hi guys, did you see the show by Lisa Horton on the 3RD of february, well my album was one of the ones shown, how excited was I!!!

So I thought I'd pop on here some close ups and more details of the finished project,

The bookcase is made out of really good quality MDF and is really easy to put together, simply add a little glue such as Cosmic Shimmer or the equivalent where they meet, hold in place a few seconds till the glue starts sticking then wipe away any excess,

When completely
dry I painted mine with some Acrylic paint in a silver colour to match in with the papers I choose to use,

As you know I love to embellish quite a bit, so my books are made with two narrower  spines and one wider spine, there are loads of spines and covers to pick  which you want to use, I had lots left over and on another day I will post a small tutorial on how I made another different styled album which was also shown on the show,
First I covered my books with some designer papers,

and not shown in any order, I made this one with some grey board cogs, these I simply added some black distress ink over the top, I then cut out one of the Butterfly stamps in Kraft card stock and glued it over the keys, I then used one of the grey board keys over that,
I finished the spine off using similar colours and embellishment, but I made a foamiran flower using the flower die bu Lisa, simply adding a clock face in the middle,

I used some more of the grey board embellishment here, the flourishes were on the show mentioned above and the hearts will be coming soon, I added some Sisal in a natural colour with some film strip too, another grey board Key finishes it off along with some of the AB pearls,

The spine again is done in embellishments to compliment the front, this time I used some pink foamiran for the flower,

On the inside I added some papers which I had first painted and stamped onto, I also used some of the fabulous stencils Lisa has, both with inks and stenciled through with stencil paste, the tags used here are coming up soon so watch out for them, they are fabulous!!

I finished the inner pages off with the fabulous wordage papers, these are awesome to use, just simply trim down the saying and glue it on the card or what ever project your doing, I love them!!

The last book has some of the grey board cogs which i added here as a little interest to a paint themed cover, abstract art?!! lol

I again followed the theme on the spine,

Some things sold out on Create and Craft so check out if you missed anything, however in 14 days they will be available in Lisa Hortons shop or online,

I have also made a video to show you in even more detail the album and books shown here,

Multi layered card with Foamiran flowers

Hi guys, I've shown you recently a few projects which due to be asked for them were quite CAS in style, as you know left to myself i tend to add layers and embellishments, lol

So I thought I'd show you a card I've made with a few layers and some of my handmade Foamiran flowers too,

The papers are from the Love Letters collection by Mintay, as is the images I've fussy cut out and layered onto the card,

I then made some flowers in Foamiran to match in with the colours, using a Lady E poppy die Flower 6, in white 0.6 Foamiran coloured with Geletos,

I've created a video on how I made these which I will pop on here soon and on my youtube channel,

Catch up with you soon,
Happy Crafting!!!

Mixed media tag for Lisa Horton Crafts

I loved creating this tag using mixed media and some of the fabulous products that was Lisa Hortons show yesterday on Create and craft,

I used one of the MDF tags as the base, then painted it with black Gesso, when dry I went over with the Motivational words stencil with some silver embossing paste,
When dry I went over the top with some purple Lindy's ink, this pooled fabulously on the stenciled words,

I painted the wings with some interference pink then stenciled over the top edge with some emboss paste using the sunburst flower stencil, I let this dry, I also used some of the pink interference powder here and there n the tag, to bring in the colour,
Meanwhile I took one of the Greyboard painted some silver paint and over it,

Hot glue this to the centre of the tag, add the wings over the top, placing evenly over the edges of the tag, then when set, add some metal cogs to the wings, and here and there on the tag,

I then glued some chain underneath the wings letting it hang below them and finished it off with a metal key, love it!! lol
