First hint of spring flowers

So after taking a little walk with our dog the other morning I noticed that the first signs of Snowdrops are starting to show in the ground, I love this first sign of new life in the New year and the first of lovely flowers to come,

So on that thought I've created some Foamiran Snowdrops, as my first post this year as part of the fabulous design team for Lady E Designs, using her latest Crocus die set and to remind me spring is on it's way!!!

Yes these we're the Crocus dies, I used the smallest of the set, die cut them out then held them against a luke warm iron for a few seconds, holding the centre with a skewer then gradually relaxing it from the iron so it started to cup the petals,
Place it then onto a foam pad (washing up pads are perfect) pushing down in the centre of the petals and scrunching the foam pad around it,

they all vary in how closed they look, so i added a little hot glue to some of the petals near the base to make them more bud like, this one has been left quite open towards the petal tips to appear fully open,
The lines you can see are part of the die and they have kept in the foam,

Here you can see how I created the different looks of the petals, I die cut some of the leaves from the set in green foamiran and lightly folded the lef along it length to give a slight bend, these I added over the wire then fixed on with some floral tape,

Snowdrops in real life, hang their heads down like this so I tried to do the same, lol I added them to a little pot from my stash with some tiny pebbles added over the base,

I hope you have a go, if you do let me know,

Happy Crafting!!
