Wedding Card

Hi guys, I thought I'd show you today a Wedding Card I was asked to make, they wanted airly simple and not overly fussy!!! hmm hard for me!!! but that's part of crafting right? a challenge, lol

I used a satin effect piece of card stock as the base, then I used some Vellum with a Altenew stamp which I stamped with versa mark, and masked a few times with some paper onto which I had stamped the flower,

When I had added some white embossing powder over the top and heat set it, I coloured the flowers on the back with some copic pens, again when dry I then fussy cut the flower arrangement out,

I used this fabulous Wedding Day chipboard by BlooMar Design, left in it's natural look to finish the card off, simply stunning!! a few sequins added finished off the card completely,

Happy Crafting!!

The Road to......

Hi guys!!  Liz here,
I'm so excited to be sharing my first post with you as a design team member of
Lisa Horton Crafts!!

Lisa has some outstanding products coming up soon and some have already been seen, I can tell you they are all fabulous to work with,

I've created a few projects for this month but the one I wanted to highlight today is this MDF Tag with lots of Lisa's products some of which were on the show on Create and Craft Yesterday,

The base of the tag has some of the papers Lisa sent me in my DT kit, which are from the Capri paper set, these papers take inks and other medium perfectly,
Taking the In The Loop DL stamp set I used the largest  stamp from the set and using an embossing stamp pad I stamped part of the stamp on the left hand side along the length of the tag, then I used some embossing powder over the top and heat set it in place,

Next using one of the stencils coming soon I used some stencil paste on the right hand side of the tag, (this gives a little texture), leave to dry,

Meanwhile I stamped the largest of the Butterflies from the Butterfly Flourish DL stamp set onto some white card with a black ink pad and coloured it in with distress inks, then I fussy cut it out with my scissors,

When the stencil paste is dry you can start adding some more stamped images on the top part of the tag, here I  again used the stamps from the In The Loop stamp set, as you can see stamping over some parts of the embossed stamping, that is entirely up to you were you place your stamps and how you place them, there are no right or wrongs!! just have fun!!!

For the bottom of the tag, I first stamped one of the fabulous stamps from the Be happy Sentiments DL stamp set onto white card stock, again using a black ink pad, then I used similar distress ink colours to the Capri paper on the base of the tag to tie it all in, this I cut slightly smaller then the width of the tag leaving the same sort of width above and below the sentiment, I then distressed the card stock edges with a distress tool or you could use scissors,

I felt there was a gap on the left of the sentiment so I stamped one of the smaller Butterflies from the Butterfly flourish stamp set, I glued this section onto the bottom section of the tag,

To finish my tag off I added a little of the distress ink colours here and there on top of the Capri papers, again to tie it all in, after gluing my Butterfly in place, I added a little light bulb embellishment that I secured onto my Butterfly from my stash, but they look fabulous with out anything extra added too, Lastly I added some twine through the hole at the top of the tag,

I hope you will have a go yourself, we love to see your creations using Lisa's products and if you wish to show us there is a Face Book site you can join,

Watch out for more fantastic inspiration from the other talented Design Team members both on our blog and the Face Book Site mentioned above, Youtube , Pinterest, and Instagram

Happy Birthday Dear Sis

Yes it's my sisters Birthday today, so I made her a card in a more CAS style then I usually make, still she doesn't do overly faffy herself and she's told me she loved it so I think it's ok!! lol

I used a Altenew flower stamp for the focal feature coloured with Lindy's Magicals then used distress ink in the background,
.......................................................................
I then used some of the fabulous stamps from the In The Loop Stamp Set and the Ticker phrases stamps by Lisa Horton Crafts around the card too,

I also used some of her new pearl looking embellishments as well, these come in two sizes as shown,

Don't forget Lisa is on Create and Craft TV tomorrow at 1PM and 6PM if there's anything left in stock,

Happy Crafting!!!

A little hint of Spring

Hi guys, I thought I'd show you some Crocus I've created using the fabulous Flower 7 Crocus dies by Lady E Design,

I used 0.6 Foamiran in lemon and purple and  green for the leaves, I also made the planter for them lol,

I love Crocus flowers as they always cheer up dull days with there lovely colours, for the inside of mine I used some stamens but their is a die in the set you can use too,

As I mentioned I also made the planter for them using some logs I bought from Hobbycraft, inside I added some Oasis then some moss type stuff over the top along with a little Sisal, this is fantastic for the flowers to sit in, you can add a little dab of glue on the bottom of the stem before pushing into the Oasis too,

I used the largest 3 petal die for these flower heads, using two sets of the petals for each, simply layering them off set so you can see the inner ones as well,
To make them be able to stand up I attached some strong wire to the base of them, covered with floral tape, then I added some of the Leaves in between the flowers too,

Mixed media tag for Lisa Horton Crafts DT

I hope you saw Lisa's Face book Live show last night were she showed you a few sneaky peaks at some of the projects and products coming soon on Create and Craft TV at 1pm for the first show,

I thought I'd show another of my projects I've made,

I used one of Danny's MDF tags for the base, then I added a sheet of card stock from Lisa too, some of the products will be on later shows, so keep an eye out,

One of the products which will be for later is this fabulous Hive stencil, which I used with some stencil paste, at the top left I also added a hint of crackle paste, when dry I used some Lindy's Magicals over the tag using a couple of colours here and there, then I sprayed some water over the top,

I then sprinkled some more of the Magicals over the top, and dried them with my heat tool,
I used one of the Butterflies from the Butterfly flourish stamp set, I coloured a piece of white cardstock then using a versa Mark ink pad I stamped the butterfly over the colouring and heat embossed it, then I fussy cut it out, I glued this onto the tag and added a little light bulb from my stash,
I used one of the Ticker sentiments from the Ticker phrases stamp set, and added it to the tag on some 3D foam tape,
I used another Butterfly at the top created in the same way as described, simply adding an air dry clay embellishment I'd made previously underneath,

I love the look of this tag,
happy Crafting!!

Happy Birthday Son

Hi all, well it's my sons birthday today, he's into fishing but can you imagine trying to come up with something different every year!!! so this is this years, lol

I decided to make a fishing scene in a altered envelope box, I cut off the front top flap section so he can see inside to the water scene, I cut out the Fisherman with my Silhouette machine,

The chip board Best Wishes are by BlooMar Design and have been embossed with Lindy's Gang embossing powders,

I also used a piece of BlooMar Chipboard for the underwater scene, at the back right,

I made the water scene with strips of acetate to hold the die cut out reeds and the fish,

The fish are stamped onto watercolour cardstock then coloured with water colour paints, then fussy cut them out, and fixed them onto the acetate strips as mentioned above,

The larger fish has a real fish hook attached to the mouth of the fish and the other end is fixed to the fisherman by fishing line, I think you can just see it, lol

It was a lot of fun to make,

First hint of spring flowers

So after taking a little walk with our dog the other morning I noticed that the first signs of Snowdrops are starting to show in the ground, I love this first sign of new life in the New year and the first of lovely flowers to come,

So on that thought I've created some Foamiran Snowdrops, as my first post this year as part of the fabulous design team for Lady E Designs, using her latest Crocus die set and to remind me spring is on it's way!!!

Yes these we're the Crocus dies, I used the smallest of the set, die cut them out then held them against a luke warm iron for a few seconds, holding the centre with a skewer then gradually relaxing it from the iron so it started to cup the petals,
Place it then onto a foam pad (washing up pads are perfect) pushing down in the centre of the petals and scrunching the foam pad around it,

they all vary in how closed they look, so i added a little hot glue to some of the petals near the base to make them more bud like, this one has been left quite open towards the petal tips to appear fully open,
The lines you can see are part of the die and they have kept in the foam,

Here you can see how I created the different looks of the petals, I die cut some of the leaves from the set in green foamiran and lightly folded the lef along it length to give a slight bend, these I added over the wire then fixed on with some floral tape,

Snowdrops in real life, hang their heads down like this so I tried to do the same, lol I added them to a little pot from my stash with some tiny pebbles added over the base,

I hope you have a go, if you do let me know,

Happy Crafting!!
