Colour theme over at Tando Creative

Hi guys, back today with a canvas i have made for the Feb colour theme going on over at

The picture made me think of rustic, old flaking paint buildings so I'm hoping this is what it looks like, the wall area I added a couple of small pieces of masking tape on the canvas then painted it with some acrylic fluid paint, then i took the tape away and it left a fab distressed look, the grid rectangles I coated with a layer of stippled texture sand paste to give a rough texture to look like stone,
The roof was made using a distressed sequin mask with modeling paste onto water colour paper then I painted over the top with some Paynes grey fluid acrylic, when dry I rough cut out the shape and fixed it onto the canvas with some 3D pads to give a little depth,
I painted the fence and the cogs with some of the fluid paint and a little tinting base added in various amounts to get the different colours, I added some crackle paste over the top of the fence and larger cog and some texture sand over the one in front,
I've made this to brighten up a dull wet day in my craft room, lol

A Time to Celebrate

Hi guys, I'm here today with my first project for this year for Tando Creative, it's a colour theme too so I have kept to those colours,

I drew around the champagne mask onto water colour paper then gave it a coating of modeling paste, spread thinly and quite smooth, while this dried I cut another small strip for a rim on the top of my bottle and also another top for the cork effect,
When the modeling paste had dried I painted the bottle with a mix of tinting base mixed with Prussian Blue Hue and painted the whole bottle with it,
After letting this dry i then added some stenciling with modeling paste through a distressed sequin mask here and there, I also put some crackle paste on the edges here and there too, at this stage i also added my extra rim layer cut from the water colour paper,
At this point I slightly shaped my bottle by bending it slightly in the center to give a bottle shape,
When  dry I put a little  of the Prussian Blue Hue onto a wet wipe and swiped it over the top of the modeling paste working into the centre too,
I then made a label using my computer and distressed it with distress ink then added a star coloured with silver metallic fluid paint to finish it off,
For the top of the bottle I took some gilding flakes and placed them to one side to appear as what was left of the gold foil after the cork had popped!!
I attached some more stars which i had painted with silver fluid paint onto some craft wire, along with the cork which i had painted first with yellow oxide then when dry with some more of the gilding flakes,

Winter Holidays

Hi all, I'm here with my last post this year for Tando Creative, this time the theme is Winter Holidays and I just couldn't resist this Mini Christmas Scenelit to alter,

It comes in layers which you glue together, I started with the back and worked to the front,
I stippled texture sand on the moon then when dry painted it with Paynes grey fluid acrylic and Titan buff, when dry I used some Raw Umber antiquing cream over the top swiped on with a wet wipe,
The roofs of the houses have modeling paste through a mini distressed sequin mask, then when dry painted with white Gesso and a little glamour dust added on top,
The walls of the houses are done with Titan Buff and Burnt Umber,

The fur trees have Blue green light fluid acylics painted on, then when dry i added some liquid applique for a snow effect,

The fence was painted with crackle paint then i went over when dry with burnt umber, this looks fab in real life as the wood looks aged, again i added the liquid applique for snow, the bells are painted with silver fluid acylics,
The base snow is made with modeling paste, spread thicker in some places and tweaked with my  knife to get the effect, this has a little glitter on too,
The large tree has crackle paste on then when dry I again swiped Raw Umber antiquing cream on over the top with a wet wipe, hopefully you can see the crackle effect which makes the tree look old and interesting!!
I painted the frame on this layer with some white Gesso then when dry put some Silver fluid acylic onto my wet wipe and swiped over the frame, this added some of the silver here and there but not as solidly as painted on,

I finished it off with some die cut leaves, cheesecloth and flowers from The Ribbon Girl,
I'm back on Tuesday for paper Take Weekly,

A little bling

Hi guys, for this weeks theme over at Tando Creative I have chosen to alter some plastic baubles from my stash making using some of the gorgeous Tando Creative mini's,

The baubles split in half around the middle, so I took one half and of each bauble and painted the insides with white Gesso, let this dry,
When they had dried I then stippled some Snow Tex on the top of the Gesso for a textured finish,

While this was drying i took some of the mini reindeer and painted them with silver fluid paint and a then layered them up to make a scene in the bauble using some die cut trees, which have some clear gems on and yet more Snow Tex,

I also made a couple using some of the mini Snowflakes, these i again painted with the silver fluid paint and added some of the gems on, I fixed them into the bauble with strips of acetate,

I finished off my baubles with some silver twine, crystal bead string and silver coloured jingle bells all from the Ribbon Girl
