I also used one of the beautiful butterflies from the latest chipboard everyday sets again by lemoncraft, this I have coloured with distress ink and then sprayed a little mica spray over the top for a little added sheen and a flower from the everyday spring flower set,

Having fun playing with mixed media

Hi guys, I'm just back off my hols but thought I'd show you a canvas i did before I went away, just because I was in the mood to play!!!! lol

I painted my canvas first with white gesso,

I then added some stenciling made with a mask and grunge paste, then sprayed the base with some of the fabulous sprays from Lindys stamp gang, I have just found these, yer I know where have I been! duh!! just love the vibrant colours!!!
The branch!! effect was made by first layering down some cheesecloth, on top of this I added some real twigs from the garden, which i found last year and kept in an airtight tin, don't know if they needed an airtight tin but they got one anyway, he he
When set I started adding some art stones and mini art stones by Finnabair then some micro beads too in bronze,
I stamped my  IO owl image using distress ink then layered it up using some papers from my stash,
this I placed on top of some natural fibres again in my stash,
On the branch I then added some fir cones and berries,

Too finish it off I added yet more spray, this time dabbed on from the tube inside the spray so the ink would run to add more effect too,

Have a go at mixed media if you haven't already, it's great fun!!
happy Crafting!!!

Name your Technique week, with A Candle Tutorial for you

Hi guys, yep it's Sunday again which means it's my day to show you my inspiration for
the  Name your Technique week over at the
There are many techniques out there for us crafters, embossing, distressing, masking, stitching etc, but the one I'm showing you today is how to add an image to a candle,
it's got quite a few photo's so grab a cuppa first, lol

You will need some basic products first as shown on the photo below, I have used copics but as long as your medium is fairly dry I think you could try it, like say distress markers etc as long as you didn't use water to spread them,
This shows my coloured image on the tissue paper with a piece of copy paper underneath as the copics tend to go through the tissue paper to what's underneath, lol
Next step!!
This next part needs a little patience and tweaking!! lol
Wrap your image and candle with the waxed or grease proof paper,

Start  gently heating your image,

Closer view of how I held the waxed paper too,

Nearly Finished!!

Phew!!!

You can now finish off your candle with any embellishments of your choice at this stage,

So there you have my tutorial on my candle with image, hope it was ok, and you could understand it
well enough, if you have any questions though, just ask,

A Matching gift Set

Hi guys, I'm here today with another project as

This time I have made a Card, Gift Bag and matching tag using the lovely daffodil and lace collections, my Mum loves daffodils so I made these with her in mind,
I kept to the same papers, lace trim, and stenciling adding A Daffodil Bouquet piece to the card, this I coloured with white Gesso then distress markers on the flower heads, a little seam binding and twine finish it off,
I used lace borders - 04 on here
For the gift bag I used the daffodil frame - 05 again coloured the same way, with the seam binding and twine, the lace border I used on here is the Lace Border - 02
The tag is again kept to the theme but I used Doily lace - 01
These and lots more gorgeous chipboards which can be found here,

All dressed up

Hi guys, I hope this has posted as I'm away at the moment, our son's home but he wouldn't have a clue, lol
So for my project today for
 I have made a tag,
I used one of the Julie Nutting stamps called Natalie doll with crop jacket, I coloured the skin parts with my copics then paper pieced her outfit and background with some of the gorgeous "6 x "6 Easter greetings paper pad, which just goes to show it doesn't only have to be for Easter either,

As you may also see I added a little script stenciling on the background too,
I stippled the mannequin with some white Gesso to give a little textured effect, then made some die cut flowers using the same set of papers,

Closer view of paper piecing and gorgeous papers,

On the top I added some of the cotton lace and a little of the pearl string, and another die cut type flower too,
Hopefully you should be seeing another post on Friday,

Happy Crafting!!
