The Masquerade Ball

Hi guys, just a quick post as I had a couple of days in between Christmas and New Year when hubby was working, so a perfect time to craft!!!! lol
I had this mad idea to make a mask for some strange reason as I am not doing anything for New Year as again hubby is working, but I don't know about you if I get an idea in my head it doesn't like going away, he he

Of course taking a photo of it was difficult too, so please excuse the stand!!!!
I got the mask design off the Silhouette site and even though I hadn't really any perfect papers for it either, here it is,
The mask has a flourish stamp by Indigoblu stamped on one corner then I added a few micro beads onto the top here and there,
I used some feathers and a large flower from my stash and painted a damask straw with my black copic pen for the wand,

I added some black gems and crystal ones too onto the mask here and there,
and the extra  top section has mega flakes on,
On the other side i used some ribbon (hanging ties) cut from a new piece of clothing, so it even has recycling too, lol

Challenges
Frilly and Funky - Holiday Hues
Indigoblu - All that sparkles
The mixed media - Silver and gold

Deep ocean - Anything goes

I wish you all a Very Happy New Year, with lots of happy crafting too,

A tag just for fun!!

Well I'm saying for fun, it's of course for Christmas but i made it because I felt like crafting so hence the fun!! lol
I have made a tag using a sissix die which is quite large so i could fit lots of embellishments on it,
The papers are from scrap and craft and are by Lemon craft from the heart painted collection, I also used a large Petaloo Burlap blossoms flower, Scrapiniec chipboard ornaments RAE, green twine and glitter brads all from there too,
I used some of the fabulous wood effect paper on the back, edging the tag with walnut stain distress ink, then i added a die cut snowflake which i added glamour dust too, this sparkles lovely in real life, then on top of that I added a piece of chipboard in the center of the snowflake, you should just be able to see it peeking out behind the large flower,
I layered my tag with the papers and then added some white frosted berries, a rusty star, and white vax cord which I bought from Live and Love crafts,

The remaining embellishments are from The Ribbon Girl

Red berries

Winter Holidays

Hi all, I'm here with my last post this year for Tando Creative, this time the theme is Winter Holidays and I just couldn't resist this Mini Christmas Scenelit to alter,

It comes in layers which you glue together, I started with the back and worked to the front,
I stippled texture sand on the moon then when dry painted it with Paynes grey fluid acrylic and Titan buff, when dry I used some Raw Umber antiquing cream over the top swiped on with a wet wipe,
The roofs of the houses have modeling paste through a mini distressed sequin mask, then when dry painted with white Gesso and a little glamour dust added on top,
The walls of the houses are done with Titan Buff and Burnt Umber,

The fur trees have Blue green light fluid acylics painted on, then when dry i added some liquid applique for a snow effect,

The fence was painted with crackle paint then i went over when dry with burnt umber, this looks fab in real life as the wood looks aged, again i added the liquid applique for snow, the bells are painted with silver fluid acylics,
The base snow is made with modeling paste, spread thicker in some places and tweaked with my  knife to get the effect, this has a little glitter on too,
The large tree has crackle paste on then when dry I again swiped Raw Umber antiquing cream on over the top with a wet wipe, hopefully you can see the crackle effect which makes the tree look old and interesting!!
I painted the frame on this layer with some white Gesso then when dry put some Silver fluid acylic onto my wet wipe and swiped over the frame, this added some of the silver here and there but not as solidly as painted on,

I finished it off with some die cut leaves, cheesecloth and flowers from The Ribbon Girl,
I'm back on Tuesday for paper Take Weekly,

With love at Christmas

Hi guys, just popping by with a card I've made, and oohh not a copic or distress ink in sight, lol

I love this  the Reindeer die so much, I cut him out of some kraft cardstock then added some Maja Design paper on the top to give him some depth, added some distresss ink on the edges, oopppss so much for saying no distress inks, lol
especially as the background is done with them too, he he
I added some liquid pearl for the dots and some Snow Tex and Gesso on the rest of the card,
The papers are again by Maja Design and too finish it off I added some paper rolled roses, brown hemp twine, rusty jingle bells and cheesecloth all from The Ribbon Girl,
Are you set for Christmas yet, I've some parcels to wrap, been meaning to wrap them for days yet life keeps getting in the way, you know the way things do, lol
I will be back with another couple of posts before the big day, make that three,  so I will see you then too,

A little bling

Hi guys, for this weeks theme over at Tando Creative I have chosen to alter some plastic baubles from my stash making using some of the gorgeous Tando Creative mini's,

The baubles split in half around the middle, so I took one half and of each bauble and painted the insides with white Gesso, let this dry,
When they had dried I then stippled some Snow Tex on the top of the Gesso for a textured finish,

While this was drying i took some of the mini reindeer and painted them with silver fluid paint and a then layered them up to make a scene in the bauble using some die cut trees, which have some clear gems on and yet more Snow Tex,

I also made a couple using some of the mini Snowflakes, these i again painted with the silver fluid paint and added some of the gems on, I fixed them into the bauble with strips of acetate,

I finished off my baubles with some silver twine, crystal bead string and silver coloured jingle bells all from the Ribbon Girl

Remember if you would like to join us in any of the months theme's just click on the link at the top of the blog page,
Happy Crafting!!

Fun Fun Fun

Hi guys, I'm back today with a project to show you I got asked to make for a teenager, it was to alter a box for some little gifts, the criteria being, no fuss as he will only tear it to bits anyway!!! lol
So hence it fit in perfectly with our challenge this time at Paper Take Weekly which is
Fun Fun Fun,
up to you how you interpret it too,
we are being sponsored by the Hobby House,

This is the box lid which I covered with some wrapping paper then added this cute stamped image which i coloured with my distress markers, I thought the sentiment was fab for a teenage boy too,
I used some snow tex for the snow and liquid applique for the snow flakes,
the cones were in my stash,

Come and join us in the Fun!!! lol
Hugs Liz xx
