Some of my Foamiran flowers

Hi guys, I've slightly lost my mojo, so I have played around with some of my dies and  foamiran, to make a few flowers, I love playing with this stuff as I love  flowers to look free and shabby in real life and try to make my flowers in that style too,

I have taken some step by step photo's of the way I do these flowers, 

Take your chosen flower dies, here you can see I wanted to try a few different ones out,

I usually cut about five layers of the foamiran at one time, with the die facing the foamiran of course, but I wanted to show you the dies I tried,

 As you can see these have been through my die cutter, all the dies I tried cut through cleanly with no problems,

I separated all the pieces and then taking some distress ink on a foam sponge I added some of the die to the edges of the petals on both sides,

Using a medium to slightly hot iron I placed the flower against my iron for a couple of seconds using a skewer so I didn't burn my fingers, ( you will see if shrink slightly and come away from the iron) I bought a travel iron so if the ink slightly transfers onto the iron it doesn't matter, but any iron will do you will just have to clean yours after using it, if you use your main one, Lol

As I've said I love my flowers shabby, so I don't overly worry when rolling my flowers, so I just wrap my petals together, then rub the flowers between my hands to make the foamiran thinner and more supple, leave to settle for a little while,

On this picture the tiny flowers when unwrapped were a little fiddly to work with, so  I simply shaped them with my fingers into a bud shape, ( top ones on the picture below) the other ones are what the flowers look like when I've finished rolling them,

These are the  flowers when I have opened up the petals, then using my thumbs I slightly stretch the middle of each petal outwards from the middle, be very careful doing this as it easily tears, I try not to touch the tops of the petals as I want then to look shabby, curled, bent, etc

To finish them off, I take my glue gun and layer the petals up, off setting the petal layers, depending on the size of the flowers, shape etc, I usually layer two or three layers together,

I then make a hole in the centre of the flower, adding some stamens, again I like a random effect, so I don't make them level in height or amount, 

I fix the stamens with a glob of glue at the back of the flowers,

I also at this stage still shape my flowers by cupping them in my hand if I wish them to be more closed up, as in the top middle one, above picture,

These were worked in the same way, using larger dies and different ink colours,

If you see the flower on the left it has a tear in the petal, I won't worry about this as it's going on the bottom layer so it will be hidden, ( I think these look slightly tropical, another favourite look of mine)

Happy Birthday Dear Sis

Hi guys, it's my sister Birthday today, so I thought I'd show you what I've made for her,

She loves these quirky birds, so I couldn't resist using one for her card, I coloured the images with my distress re-inkers 

The beautiful papers are by Pion Design - Where The Roses Grow which I bought off Tracy at Noor Design UK, the clock, banners with the sentiment and the little flag style banner were all made form the papers too,

I also added a little glimmer with a wink of steller pen onto the balloons, though typically you can't really tell off here!! lol

The cute silver colour heart was part of the latest 3D Crafteezee  collection from Tracy,

 I used some of the other products on my 3D house shelf shadow box, the other day, please scroll down if you wish to see it,
I used some of the fabulous white twine again from Tracy to the banner pieces, A doily die and some machine stitching finishes the card off,
Now as you guys who know my blog, know my sis doesn't overly do foof, so I try to sit on my hands while making her cards!!!! so it's a little CAS in style, isn't it?

A Baby Boy

Hi guys, were back today over at all dressed up with our latest challenge which as usual is anything goes,

This time I used the adorable 

My baby Shower

love it, it is so cute and as you can see with a little tweaking can be used for a new born baby,

I coloured the image with my copics, adding a little distress ink for the sky,

where the my baby shower was I added a chipboard over the top by Scrapiniec,

The papers are by Maja design as is the banner which I cut out off the strip at the bottom of the papers,

Flowers are from my stash, I'm so trying to use up some of my stuff this year, lol

Shabby style shelf shadow box

Hi guys, I thought I'd pop by today with a decorated shadow box I got in the latest

 Crafteezee collection kit,

I started by measuring all the sections and then cutting them out of the gorgeous paper by Pion design - where the roses grow, which was also in the kit,

I then made some strips for the roof, decorating one side with a x cut punch from my stash, I also distressed the papers with a little vintage photo distress ink,

I made a paper template first for the triangular section at the top, then when I was happy with it, I cut it out of the designer paper, shown above!!

Here's the fun part!!! decorating it,

I first placed the paper strips on the roof , using both sides of the same 12 x 12 paper sheet,

I then decorated the insides, I adhered all the sections with the paper, then layered up some of the items from the kit and some from my stash,

I adhered a Joy crafts Lattice border die on the back, which I got from Tracy's shop, then  randomly laid some cheesecloth from my stash on the base of this section, I then used this gorgeous flower which  was part of the kit, wow it's stunning!!

I finished it off with a little green moss,

 I adhered some more cheesecloth on the section underneath the top section on the left, using this fabulous filigree key from the kit, and a flower and chipboard key hole by Scrapiniec from my stash,

On the outer edge of this section I added a  Scrapiniec border again from my stash, I've kept all the chip boards in their natural colour for this project,

For the middle section, I left the base plain this time, simply adding a metal clock face, wooden clock hand and some flowers from my stash,

On the outside edge between these two sections I fixed this adorable pearl flower and rhinestone trim which was in the kit, above this I added an air dry butterfly made with a mould again in my stash,

I used some of the cheesecloth for the background this time as I wanted this section to be layered and shabby looking and it also looks a little like fabric which went fab with the scissors, ribbon spool, onto which I wrapped a little twine, a fancy flower embellishment and some flowers all from my stash, I also added a coat hanger on the outside edge to keep the theme in too,

I had this fabulous arched frame which I got from The Ribbon Girl in my stash and I wanted it to have a 3D look in this section too, so I added a Scrapiniec ballerina chipboard behind the frame and finished it off with some more  WOC flowers from my stash,

For the last section at the bottom, I fixed some acetate from my stash,behind the adorable Penny Farthing bronze embellishment which was in the kit, to make it stand up and be slightly at an angle too, I adhered a little cheesecloth on the base of the box first, then fixed the acetate with the Penny Farthing on over the top, when this was dry I added a little moss at the front and a flower too,

I had this resin clock in my stash which fit this section perfectly, so I just added a border on the right hand side made from a cut down doily and some flowers, white leaf and a little hint of the moss again from my stash,

Between these layers I used another chipboard border by Scrapiniec and another butterfly made with air dry clay and a mould from my stash,

Finished view again, it took a lot of work and time but I love it,

Happy 70th Birthday

Hi guys, I have been looking after Tegan for the last few days, she's back at school today so I thought I'd pop this card I made between Christmas and New Year,

This is for a lady who's Birthday is in March, but she's away  on a long hols so I needed to make it sooner, phew!!! 

, (I am trying to use up some of my papers, flowers, embellishments etc which I have in my stash) so the papers are from a Prima pad I found in my stash, she's going on a world cruise so thought the papers were quite apt!! and of course went with my handmade foamiran flowers too, lol

I placed the numbers in a hand made air dry clay frame, I then added a little distress ink on the edges and a hint of Snowtex too,

I coloured the flowers with distress ink and Rosy Dot dies, the stamens were in my stash, the gorgeous doily behind is also a die in my stash,

The clock peeking out underneath the flowers is by Maja Design,

I love Foamiran!! can you tell?? lol
