Sweet Pea Tilda

Hi guys, just popping on with a card I've made for my mums 83 rd Birthday, she loves pretty colours and I thought sweet Pea Tilda is so cute she is defo one of my favourites at the moment lol,

I've coloured her with my distress re-inkers and used a spellbinders ovals die for the shape, underneath I have sewn tulle which I cut into about a one and a half inch strip this I then pleated by hand and sewed in place as I went along, this so reminded me of when I sewed for a living doing pleated edges for cushions etc lol,

To finish off the tulle, I sewed the pleated strip underneath my ovals die cut to keep it in place, this I then layered onto a spellbinders floral ovals die cut, which I cut out of pink cardstock,

My mum doesn't like dark colours so I have kept her fairly light and kept the background that way too,

The other dies I used are a Tim Holtz on the edge border die called butterflight which I love to use,
I cut out two layers one in cardstock and one in matching  Pion paper then laid them onto each other, I was trying the technique I've seen in blogland where you then pull the top layer off to reveal the bottom layer, only just as I stuck it down my neighbour called for a coffee and when I got back to it it had stuck good and proper so it left the white backing paper off the top one showing, it wasn't quite the effect I was after but it still looked ok and it kept the light look too lol,

The gorgeous pearl string and the beautiful roses came from the ribbon girl, I so need more of these as they are gorgeous and when I've finished my Radio therapy treatment which I have just started I will be going on a shopping spree to treat myself he he,

She's back

Hi guys, just popping in again with another of the Aliah digi  stamp from crafts and me that I love to colour with my copics, actually I love her coloured with my distress re-inkers too lol,
anyway enough of my waffle!

The gorgeous papers are Pion and were a fab candy from a lovely friend, thank you hun, I've cut out the shapes using a Go Kreate die then I've edged the edges with vintage photo distress ink then I've added aged ivory frantage as well, so loving this stuff like so many of you do too, I've also done the hearts at the side and will put a little tutorial at the end of how I did them,
As you can see I've used a little frantage on her flowers and left a few dots of it on her hair for the effect of blossom, if you don't like this effect you can remove it before heating,
The gorgeous cream lace at the bottom already had the pearls on, then I've added a large cream flower from my stash then added a beaded stem, and an ivory paper rose from The ribbon girl,
the key is also from them but I've frantaged this too,

I have had to do my short tutorial with a couple of  pictures, so hope you will be able to follow it lol
you will need a embossing pad of some sort, ie versamark or perfect medium, mine is  an emboss by tsukineko, but I've had it years and  don't know if you can still get them!

pictured also are the Stampendous aged ivory frantage, long handled tweezers so you don't burn your fingers and the memory box die cuts I've used, one showing before and the other after,

I die cut my hearts out of kraft cardstock, then put my die onto my embossing pad direct
I've seen a fab tutorial by  Tracy  of crafteezzee and is well worth watching, but I thought I'd just show you on how I do the metal effect on cardstock,

when you have got the die embossed with  the embossing pad add the frantage on the that  side, I laid mine down on my craft mat then added the powder on top, this I then picked up with my long handled tweezers and heated from underneath to begin with as I find it raises it nicely, then I finished it off on the top,

if required  you can then add another layer of emboss by going over with your pad again then adding more powder on the top and heating again, this causes a lovely metal effect which is nicely raised,

I hope you've been able to follow my short tutorial as I needed another pair of hands for the camera while I held my die and being on my own I didn't have a pair handy lol

Happy Birthday

Hi guys, just popping on a card I've made for a friend who's Birthday is was this week,
it's a bit different for me lol,
The gorgeous stamp is from Anna Marie and I saw her do a card using  similar things and just had to have a go, lol
the stamp is heat embossed onto her range of vellum papers then I stamped a text stamp from my own stash for the background to give added interest, the vellum is then roughly torn to give yet more interest, this is a bit tricky, well I found it tricky anyway lol,
the main image is coloured using a white gel pen and a paint pen, to add a little something different I used  fran-tage shabby white embossing powder randomly around the image too,

the gorgeous paper I used behind the image is from MCH and is from a Prima paper pad called Divine,
the paper rose is from The Ribbon Girl as are the rose buds, the dried flowers are from Anna Marie designs, the ribbon is from my stash.....
To finish the card off I used the same embossing powder on the sentiment and added a few pearls from MCH coloured with my copic black marker to tie in the black,
